Department of Tourism and Hospitality

Tourism and Hospitality is the world’s largest employer. Millions of tourists, all over the world, visit destinations for a variety of reasons. Tourists need qualified professionals to aid them in their travels. This includes: travel agents who book airline flights and travel packages, hotel workers who make their stay fun and pleasant, tour guides who are experts in a destination, and many, many more.

There are also specialty positions within the Tourism and Hospitality Industries. Cruise-lines, eco-tourist tour operators, flights attendants, TSA workers, event and meeting planners car rental agents, theme park workers and a variety of other careers within the TAH industries.

What most people don’t realize is that the Sports Industry is also part of the TAH industry. Millions of fans travel to see their teams play all over the world. Teams and fans spend billions of dollars per year on travel, hotels, restaurants, and tickets to their favorite sporting events.

Earning an A.A.S. degree in Tourism and Hospitality opens the door to a variety of careers that will always be in demand, worldwide.
