Liberal Arts Program

Mission Statement for the Liberal Arts Program Kingsborough's Liberal Arts Program seeks to promote the intellectual, emotional, and ethical qualities that are characteristic of a well-rounded self-governing individual. These include the ability to think critically, communicate effectively, comprehend the methods and products of scientific inquiry, grasp the significance of historical processes, cultivate an aesthetic sensibility, develop an appreciation for the traditions and practices of world cultures, and participate meaningfully in democratic society. The Liberal Arts Program affords an opportunity for students to explore diverse academic and career options, and offers the necessary preparation for the pursuit of the baccalaureate degree. The ultimate intent of the Liberal Arts Program at Kingsborough is to instill in students a passion for the lifelong processes of intellectual inquiry and self-understanding.
