Mission Statement
The
Art Gallery at Kingsborough Community College is dedicated to providing
the students, faculty and staff at Kingsborough, and the many communities
that make up the borough of Brooklyn, an annual schedule of exhibitions,
presenting art of historical, regional, national or international standing,
reflecting the values and standards inherent in the Art Department curriculum.
Exhibitions are free and open to the public.
Submissions
For the most part, we curate our own exhibitions. But we welcome submissions
from established artists, and from both independent and institutionally
affiliated curators. Each submission is considered through a process that
includes review by the Gallery Committee, comprised of Art Department
faculty and staff.
Though the committee considers all media, please keep in mind we are seeking
professional artists with substantial exhibition or publication records,
whose work will provide our students an exhibition experience that is
both challenging and relevant to their program of study.
We prefer digital submissions and suggest a single PowerPoint file as
the most efficient method for combining images with text. Please use image
files of no more than 72 DPI that represent an overview of what will actually
be exhibited, along with statements and CVs to: kccgallery@gmail.com
Do
not process your files through compression
or zip software. And keep in mind we operate on a PC platform, so MAC
users are urged to make appropriate adjustments.
