 The Rideshare Service is a carpool program offered at Kingsborough Community College. This service is powered by AlterNetRides is not as popular as it should be in the Kingsborough community. It is a special program that is provided to help with the environment, traffic congestion as well as providing an inexpensive way for commuters to get to school and work.
Signing up at www.AlterNetRides.com is a great way to participate in a carpool. It is easy sign up and takes no more than five minutes of your time just to sign up. The site also gives you additional information about sponsorship for those that are interested and also gives a list of institutions that participate in the program.
It is a convenient program. The site provides all the information you may need to know about sharing a ride. It gives the name of the person and destination. Most importantly, it gives information provided by the driver of when and where they are going to arrive at your common destination. It also indicates if the ride is a smoke free ride or other and any preferences on the use of the radio. It is a safe and an alternate way to get to where you are going. All you have to do is sign up.
While sharing a ride, you would also be sharing a common energy and intention and that is to help the environment as well as a common route. There is a list of rides to check out. Check it out and try it. Can not knock it until you try it, especially if it is convenient.

It is environmentally a great approach to helping the atmosphere and to the individuals that have to commute daily. As the summer days approach we are prone to hot air and fumes that enter the air we breathe by the emissions of commuter vehicles. As I walk through the streets on a daily basis, I see the fog and the fumes in the air, which is caused by all the emissions of the vehicles that are in traffic and it is not a pleasant sight to see nor is it something that I would like to be around, let alone breathe in. It is almost impossible to breathe such air and with thousands of commuters that smoke, that only adds to the problem.
