Student Government is a great way to get involved on a higher level, and to help affect change on campus. SGA students sit on a variety of campus boards and committees to provide feedback, allocate funds, and impact policy changes for campus. If you want to join SGA, there are two ways:Become a RepresentativeIn addition to their officers, each council may have up to 20 representatives. Representatives still attend meetings and have an equal say in council business. To become an SGA representative, pick up a Rep Packet (available in C-123 or any of the SGA offices), complete your information at the top, get signatures from the current council president and advisor, and get signatures from at least 45 students. These students MUST be registered in majors which fall under the same council as you. Once your petition has been verified, congratulations, you're an SGA Representative!Annual ElectionsSGA Elections happen each spring, typically during the first half of May. Submit a nomination packet during the nomination period, and your name will appear on the ballot for your chosen officer position within your designated council. If you missed the nomination deadline, you may still campaign as a write-in candidate, HOWEVER, campaign guidelines still apply.More information about SGA Elections will be available soon!
