Salzburg Global Citizenship Program Application

The Salzburg GCP is an Honors scholarship restricted to 12 students chosen from those who successfully complete this application and satisfy its criteria. These 12 are sent to Salzburg, Austria during Spring Break to study issues of global citizenship. Scholarship recipients enroll in Philosophy 79, Global Ethics, Spring 2017, which meets Wednesdays 10:20 am to 12:30 pm, and are expected to take leadership roles representing the program on and off campus, before, during, and after the semester. They must also sign appropriate waivers and forms, secure a medical clearance, make a refundable $150 deposit, and secure (inexpensive) travel insurance. All other expenses paid.

Application Criteria:
• Successfully complete this application
•Have a GPA of at least 3.20
•Secure two letters of recommendation from college faculty (one from staff may be substituted)
•Have completed at least 12 credits
•Have an expected graduation date no sooner than June 2017
•Have completed English 12 with a grade of B or higher
•Submit a 1-2 page essay (explaining your reasons for wanting to participate in the Salzburg Seminar)
•Be willing to be interviewed during the selection process and attend meetings before the semester begins
