Kingsborough Community College thanks NYS Assemblymember Jaime Williams of Brooklyn's 59th Assembly District for allocating $3 million in state funds to the College’s Offshore Wind Training (OSW) Program. And, because New York City allocates matching funds for capital appropriations provided by the State to CUNY community colleges, KCC will receive another $3 million, bringing the total to $6 million. The check was presented to President Claudia Schrader and the KCC students during “The Future of Workforce–Maritime and OSW” breakfast at Kingsborough in late November. Familiar with KCC’s maritime technology programs, Assemblymember Williams spearheaded the push to get city and state leaders to support the innovative conception of an OSW training facility at KCC.
